JOpt.GeoCoder

JOpt.GeoCoder is DNA Evolutions’ geocoding and geo-referencing component. It converts business location data (addresses, place strings, IDs) into route-ready geo coordinates and geo references, enabling consistent routing and optimization across systems.

Route planning and optimization are only as good as the location data you feed in. GeoCoder is the first building block that turns “human input” into “planning-grade input”.

Current availability: JOpt.GeoCoder is primarily offered as a SaaS component. For access, tenancy, and integration options please contact us.

Overview

GeoCoder focuses on quality, consistency, and enterprise integration:

  • Address → latitude/longitude resolution
  • Latitude/longitude → normalized address (reverse geocoding)
  • Standardized geo outputs for downstream systems (planning, dispatch, reporting)
  • Designed to integrate with JOpt.RouterPlanner and JOpt.TourOptimizer as part of an end-to-end planning pipeline

GeoCoding is based on Pelias (open source): https://github.com/pelias/pelias

What problems JOpt.GeoCoder targets

GeoCoder is designed for operational data reality:

  • inconsistent address formatting (“street” vs “str.”, missing house numbers, mixed languages)
  • partial inputs (postal code only, city only, POIs)
  • large corpora (many thousands/millions of addresses)
  • repeated usage (same locations across days, weeks, planning runs)

  2. Receive base URL + credentials / tenancy configuration
  3. Integrate GeoCoder into your preprocessing pipeline or your on-demand location workflow
